A suggestion for a "List of common added threads."

Hi guys I was just thinking of adding this idea where I made a "list of common stuff suggested." because I also find it sometimes hard to find some previous suggested Ideas. But shortley I found out that this is alot of work.

So I ask you guys. is this "needed" or is it just "waste of time."

This is a list of common added threads. This is made to try to decrease the number of reposted Ideas and suggestion, and a help for those who have difficulty to search threads.

Q: Why should you bother to search/look up this list before adding a new thread?
A: because it would make the fourm better. (and thats it)

Best suggestion ive seen in a long time. Another forum i am a part of for Empires Mod has a similer thing where suggestions are broken into 3 catigorys:

Implimented

Under Consideration

Rejected

and inside each of these are all the previous suggetion threads that apply to each

Yeah i thought about that. but I think more like "accepted by public" and "Rejected by public". cuz we arent admins or producers or anything.

and that under consideration? :/ I don't get paid enough for that xD but if someone else want to do that be my guest xD


soo? add 2 or 3 lists? "rejected", "accepted", and maybe "spammed" ideas?

Nice idea I guess but the nubs wont read it so new topics with the same suggestions will still keep popping up. I mean, TW even implemented an automatic search function when you type in the topic name but that sure havent stopped people from suggesting m16 over and over again.

m16 was just an example, and the way the system works is it searches for similar thread names (afaik) and I dont think there are any threads actually called "m16", its usually something like "new commando weapons" and then within the thread you have m16 but the search function there doesnt know it.

But wether that automatic search is actually helping or not, it doesnt change my point. The nubbies still wont read the stickies or search before posting.

if you look at the thread I added in my suggestion. its named M16a2 something it contains "m16" so It should do something atleast? :/

It wouldn't stop people. They'd just get on the forums, click past whatever prompts, and post their topic. Then they'd wonder why everyone's getting mad at them.

Maybe if there was some code added to the system to check inside the first post of JUST the board section you are posting under for the keywords you have in your thread title/post. Preferably post. This way you can directly check against other threads for their first posts at least on similar keywording. Although... this makes it somewhat cumbersome with the fact that there would be so many similar keywords in posts... Maybe force the user to also say what keywords are to be checked against and disallow a thread creation without keywords.

But as always, the best laid plans still fall apart in SOME way...

Although these are great ideas and I would support them, there's still the ones who think their ideas are better than everybody else's and will post a new thread anyway.

ok, I desided to make one list over Ideas People like (as a start atleast)

any one have a title suggestion?

"list over good Ideas"
"for good Ideas click here"


I have began filling the list a litle gonna release it today or tomorrow I hope and just update as it goes.
Maybe anyone wanna share the admin rights to edit the list?


EDIT:
I will make a list of good written Ideas instead. just to make it litle bit easier on me. since it summer vecation and then we also dont get that debate of having. "thats not a good idea" and that kinda stuff in the thread.

EDIT x2: I will not at good written but super bad Ideas

EDIT x3: I consider adding "Implimented" thingy besides name and such
