A Question about Sniping

On the Russian and German scope crosshairs, where exactly is the bullet supposed to land? Is it at the tip of the vertical triangle, or should I aim on the centerline of the two horiztonal bars? It's a dumb question but since Day of Defeat I've been avoiding that type of crosshair just because I never knew the answer.

It's the tip of the triangle. But, because the game models real world ballistics, you'll have to manually compensate depending on the range (along with leading targets that are moving).

I've always wondered...the two scopes (russian and german) show the same image for the crosshairs...are these the accurate images used back then? I wouldn't mind at all if they weren't, something like that would be hard to find an image of, but I was just curious what the real ones, if the ones RO uses are false, look like

They are indeed accurate scopes. Both sides used the three-point design.

That reticle design was pretty standard in those days throughout Europe and is still widely used in European hunting scopes.
