A GDC Update

Im trying to spread the word as much as I can, but most of my friends say "meh, WW2".

Tell them that RO isn't just another WWII game. It's a game that stands out among the crowd and is unique among WWII shooters because of its realism, always has. RO (the mod for UT2004) even had iron sights before the first Call of Duty had them. Rifles are one-shot kills, something you rarely even see in games anymore. Tell them that the game is 100% developed for PC.

Also, the setting isn't important as long as the gameplay is good. :IS2:

Soulzz and I will be on crosshairs sunday, filling in the blanks on what we saw at GDC. Feel free to join and ask questions.

As I wrote, I'm especially curious about the news sounds and if they've been implemented yet. I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on the new suppression system as well. How effective it is, whether or not it takes away too much control from the player, etc.

YES! Please bug them until they come on the show!

You say this like we are resisting it ;]
Although realisticly, alot of us are busy...... i mean me and Putz are crafting fine beers to keep tue rest of the team from having to take time making beer runs even!

Back in reality, i know at ICV we're definately game for it, just need to work out scheduling and everything

Well that's what I mean. People are busy, and even if they are enthusiastic, it often takes constant bugging to get them onboard ;)

ppl are tired of the being the US storming the beaches of Normandy.

Also they have been told that WW2 is old fashioned and over done so they believe it, even when it hasn't been done in a while...
But I bet they've never played a German SP campaign - never mind a Japanese one :)

I think the important thing is that there are many in the greater FPS community that don't know that these other great mods will arrive that help make the game appeal to an even broader audience.

By the way who in the hell picked the In Country music for the trailer?
Maybe the best or only working class, psychedelic, soul, blues singer ever.
The man is still going strong too.

hating on WW2 games is sooo 2007.
It's all about modern day wars now

Don't worry.. at this rate, Modern wars will be overplayed in the next 2 years.

Then the billion dollar companies will find another era to destroy.

But I bet they've never played a German SP campaign - never mind a Japanese one :)

True. What we need is an actual campaign where you play as an Axis soldier. Too bad everyone gets their panties in a bunch when we start talking about about playing as a "jew-blood thirsty nazi heathen".

I commend TWI for taking a step in the right direction... even if one of your employees got all butt-hurt about it. Other games have started down the right path, the Silent Hunter Franchise allows you to play a german U boat commander. With TWI opening up the doors to the possibilty of playing a full scripted campaign as an axis vet, we have a brighter and untapped future ahead of us. :IS2:

Yeah, I mean not every German was an ardent Nazi party supporter, many were fighting to make Germany great again, to try and restore some of the pride that their country lost after the 1st world war.

Make that almost no German.

But you'll never hear any of that. What the regime did has doomed their sacrifices to being seen as genocidal puppetry for eternity.

Not really, games didn't make me hate modern theme. The news did (and the whole gun porn culture thing).

CoD made me hate modern theme in games, although BC2 did brush it up a little, than Blops came and destroyed it again.

Dunno which, but one article (ign i think) said the sp was just countdown with bots. I know it's not entirely true, but please disprove that notion of IGN and confirm copperheads actual campaign:(
