[Image] A document I found during the demolition of an old house.

While demolishing an old, rotting farmers house on the premise of my parents, I stumbled upon following document, that might interest some guys of you here.
It's a record of the stations the old owner of the home (my parents inherited it becase they took care of his wife when she was old. I never got to know the man this document is about, because he died in the seventies).
This document was created in 1953, according to a small note on the backside.

It reads:

yupp, seems to be Dietl. here's my translation and decryption of the abbreviations. Got my task for this evening done earlier than expected, so here we go:

I read a book about the arctic front, and the fighting on the Litsa front, it must have been inhumanly hard fighting in the cold mid-winter 1941 there. At least he got out before the major Russian attacks.

Maybe he has some relatives that would be happy for some history from his life?

Nice find. I find it somewhat funny that the way those letters are done, it looks a lot like Hebraic to me.

Well then it shouldn't surprise you that the Nazis eventually tried to ban all black letter scripts for being "Jewish" or otherwise un-German. Bormann spearheaded that little cultural project.
