[Error] 99% Downloaded

I updated RO2 this morning and played all day. I went to play this evening and it said it had to update...I am now in the 99% endless loop. I uninstalled and am reinstalling as we speak, if I get around to playing in "insert slow install speed" I will let you know how it went.

Gotta love pc gaming, I know I do.

Just in case no one notices my earlier edits I'll post this here as well. I was having this issue today and I noticed that for some reason I was opted back into the beta even though I had changed that setting earlier. After opting out I had to download around 4gig but it completed and now the game works fine. Hopefully this will work for someone else as well!

Geez. Same thing again, stuck on that last 1% with the current update. Gonna opt-out of the beta and see if it fixes itself.

Seems to be fixed now, had it paused for 20 mins and now it updated. Coincidence or did some fix go through already.

Updated the beta is what it did. Joined a server okay then got out to go play game. Opted out of beta and lo and behold, I have to wait for another update...really?

Just how many updates have we had today?

Confirmed. Now I'm just getting constantly kicked off of servers because of punkbuster. A total different issue

Got up and tried to enter the game. Success, I entered a Russian server and all is good. Got out of server, opted in for beta and lo and behold another update.

Is this normal, every time we opt in and out we have to update the gameS???

I will let you know if it hangs up at 99%

I think it's normal. I had the same when I opted in, got stuck at 99%, oupted out and then opted in again (now game is downloaded in 100%, probably Valve and TWI manged to solve problem on their end with files as Yoshiro said). It looks like Steam games always download full content no matter what and they didn't store it.

Doesn't hang up...yea! But it does another update when I opt in and out...every time.

For clarity and how I see all these downloads:

1. You download vanilla version of the game.
2. You download updates for vanilla version.
3. You download beta version in addition to the vanilla version.
4. You download beta pre-updates for beta.

And you repeat all these steps each time you change properties for betas.

You also have to download most of the stuff if there are some changes for the maps to avoid problems with incorrectly downloaded content, if I remember correctly. The process can be quite tiresome indeed, especially for those with slow/limited download.

Sounds about right HD but thankfully I am, on a uber-fast download speed so not really worried. Just lots of updating.

I just read the forums while waiting on the downloads...
