It's getting a bit annoying that they keep making tee-shirts with contravercial stuff on them.

I've bought TWO tee-shirts recently that after the fact I realized would probably get me shot if I wore them downtown. Stupid...

One was orange and said "state property," the other was a rather bizzare shirt with a piece of very course fabric (almost like burlap) sewn on the front with a very dark picture of who I later found out was Tupac. (yes, I'm that oblivious)

Perhaps they should just cut to the chase and make tee-shirts that say "Hi, I'm an idiot" on them.

pisses me off too, it's nearly impossible to find any t-shirts that don't have a huge brand name pasted on the front or a stupid saying or those fake "retro" shirts.

It took me 10 minutes yesterday in Wal-Mart to find a plain white T-Shirt.

Makes me want to cry.

Re: the 'since 1978' thing.

Loadsa cheap clothes and goods made in China have meaningless English slogans on them....

Things like "1922 College Polar Baseball Expedition" on rucksacks and stuff like that.

In China you can also see punks (or at least their version thereof) wearing swastikas with apparently no real awareness of what that means in the West.

You do know the Swastika came from the east first right?

It's a skull. On a t-shirt. For ****s sake, if the t-shirt somehow hurt you or your grandparents I promise you it was your/their own damn fault. The shirt is entirely inannimate and from a completely different generation, even! Same goes for swastikas, crosses, confederate flags, stars and crescents, stars of david, pentagrams, shambeh bambehs, and flying spaghetti monsters.

Jumpin Jesus on a pogo stick, JUST GET OVER IT!

I swear, we need to allow spankings back in school. Neo-Nazi punks would dissapear just like that. Then we wouldn't have people screaming OMG IMBA! as soon as something that might sorta-kinda-almost resemble a Nazi symble pops up.

Yarrrrrrrr

I am fully aware that the swastika is a hindu symbol - having seen taxis, buses and elephants in Delhi daubed with said symbol. An elephant covered in swastikas blocking the road in front of you is enough to piss off even the most tolerant driver I must say :D

I can also say that the chinese punks I saw adopted a lot of other western style youth cult trappings such as combat boots, studded belts and so on. I sincerely doubt that the guy I particularly mention was tipping a nod to the hindu pantheon by wearing a red, white and black hakenkreuz.

One possibility that did occur to me is that, living in Shanghai as he did, he was wearing it just to piss off westerners such as myself. Japanese punks who wear the hakenkreuz certainly seem to do so for exactly that reason.

It's kinda funny, somebody could buy this shirt (cause he's a tough kid and likes the bad-ass skull on it) and gets beaten up for it with no clue about why.

If I walked into a room of vets wearing a t-shirt sporting a skull that looks extremely similar to that of the Deaths head I'd imagine they'd be fairly bothered by that. Have some consideration.

Old Navy and Target both sell plain-colored T-shirts fairly cheap, and they're a decent fabric. Old Navy's normally a pain in the butt, tho, because it's tough to find the regular T-shirts rather than the hideous 1970s-style ones with the brown collars (!).

Now, if someone wants non-stupid sayings but controversy, it's hard to go wrong with

I like to wear mine (http://www.tshirthell.com/store/product.php?productid=252) about this time of the year.. it's long sleeve! ;)

That said.. imo, if the manufacture did it on purpose, it was in poor taste.
Either way, WalMart should of had someone look at the damn thing to make sure it didn't hit shelves.. regardless how you feel about it, it's become an icon of a group of not-very-nice people, and from a strictly corporate standpoint, not the kinda of publicity that companies want.

You should have kicked his 1.5 meter tall ass. If not for you, for Klaus. I like to use the suplex move on NAZI Punks, like Macho-Man Randy Savage.

BTW the greatest T-Shirt I ever saw was at Glass Roots in Santa Cruz, It was blue, and said Trainwreck in block letters on the front. I also like the one that says NYC Diesel.

Sadly they have discontinued the 'toilet love' T's they truly locked! :D

*Edit* Woo-hoo! they haven't discontinued them:

They're not jokes as such - just kind of "Look at the funny orientals' take on English" kinda things.

I am working on a map at the moment but, as it is part of the Carpathian Crosses project, I haven't been posting about it. It pwns btw :D

I am also doing the sounds for CC - we now have all Romanian voice commands completed and will soon have all the new weps and vehicles sounds (although I have yet to find a satisfactory v-12 diesel sound for the later mark BT-7's)

Rame, it's the same as seeing random kanji and pseudo-kanji thrown on shirts sold in the US. If the pretty little pictures actually do have any meaning, it more often than not ends up just a random string of words that the shirt's designer happened to like the look of.

That shirt rules! I also like "Loveness in the champion meal 666". Yeah Japan is full of absolutley absurd/ not meaning anything phrases thrown on their shirts. ""Young candy home time 69!" That Engrish site is hilarious, haven't visited it in a while. My sister brought back a cat carrier from Japan here's what it says:
"Travel Carry: This is the comfortable travel carry for your lovery (yes that's how they spelled it) pets. It assists to enjoy your life."
Lol! While it makes sense the phrasing & word choice is typically funny.

A lot of Japanese graphic designers use English words because there is far more freedom to introduce design variations into the English character set. Generally they couldn't give a toss exactly what it means or whether it is grammatically correct.
