3-shot trick with Support?

Can someone tell me how to do the 3HSG blasts (one on ground, double in air)?

There is a bug in the game sometimes when you shot the HS it consumes the ammo from the stock pile and not from the gun. From time I can tell its happens randomly. This bug annoy me when I'm trying to reload my HS. Instead of wasting one bullet I waste 1 or even 2 sometimes.

A few times I have had my HS shoot 3 times. That was a bit surprising. I am not sure what causes it.

switch to another weapon before the reload animation
bring the HSG again
fire before the reload
follow-up with alt-fire quickly
