It seems im locked at this framerate for no reason, what the hell?

Im on

i7 2600S quad 2.8ghz
Radeon 6570 1gb
8gb ram

I should easily be able to get 40-50 fps on ultra, but thats beside the point, theres no fps change from low-ultra

Go in to your ROEngine.ini and make sure your max fps isn't capped. I think it's something like 'MaxFrameRateSmoothing'. There is 2 separate spots in it, change the cap to something high. Make sure it isn't set at a low amount.

I had the same experience, where I went from ultra, kept lowering settings and fps did not rise at all and stayed below 30 on some maps. It helped that I deleted roengine.ini and re-did my settings from default.

ALso, world detail has a surprisingly large influence (then perhaps light beams, then shadows). Try changing those first.

There is definitely somthing wrong somewhere though in the sense that it seems changing settings should make more of a difference. I personally think that in my case it is not caused by a bottleneck on the pc so much, but some problems in the code when changing settings.

I don't think the video card is the problem. This game isn't heavily relied on the vid card, but more on the cpu. Yours seems fine enough to play the game with decent fps, not sure why it's so terrible.

With my GTX 570, I also get very little difference in frame rate regardless of settings. Even when lowering the settings to absolute lowest, and resolution to 800x600 from 1920x1080, I only get like 10 more FPS than max settings.

I've been at 11.11 since a few hours after it was released, no luck.

RO2 isnt even that pretty of a game to require such intensive graphics. The engine is just crapily optimized.

I would have just set everything to low and played it while I waited for a patch but I can't even play it on low at a decent fps.

Since im 27 fps across the board I usually just play with AA and ambient occlusion and vsync off and thats it, waiting for a patch... :\
