Now that christmas/holidays are over, New Year's Eve is next up. So I've been thinking about this year in retrospect and what to expect from 2012, and thought that this could be quite interesting to discuss with others/read about others' thoughts.
So...
1) How was your 2011 in retrospect?(Both personal/general)
The first nine months of my life in 2011 pretty much sucked, because I was doing alternative service 45h/week in child protective services(doesn't sound so bad, reality is incredibly annoying children and drug-addicted 14year olds, although in most cases it's not really their fault but their parents'). On one hand I became friends with some of the pedagogues and the whole thing definitely was an experience that might come in handy one day(when I'm a dad, basically), on the other hand I was just SO glad it was over, because I could finally get back to my real proper life. Directly once I was done with alternative service university started, I'm studying law and really like it so far. First HUGE(as in 75% failure rates) test is end of january.
In general it wasn't really a special year though imo. Of course you get the obligatory catastrophys like the Fukushima thing. The arabic revolutions were special too of course, but that's a thing still in progress because the important part now is what happens in the future in those countries. And of course the maniac Breivik who shocked the world.
2) What do you expect from 2012?(again, can be both personal & general)
As for my personal life, there's not much that's going to change I guess. Keep studying and take what life throws at me.
On a general scale, I expect something big to happen. Mabye riots in Russia or Iran, but I think that something will happen that will appear to frighten global stability.
Also I believe that it will be very interesting to see how/if media will be hyping the Maya thing up (or not). I can certainly see quite an amount of people meeting up at puplic places to wait for the apocalypse, Men in Black style.
3) What are your New Years resolution if you have any?
I think I've become quite a cynic, so I'll spend some time on trying to revert that and enjoy life more and be less driven by prejudice and be yet more open-minded. Other than that I don't have any special resolutions.
Can't wait to read other peoples' thoughts!
