2 things that i don`t like

2 thinks that i don`t like,

- long spawnwaiting
- swapping to the other team unwanted.

i agree they need to fix the priority of the team swapping, i was commander once and i was team switched, they should just switch a rifleman who has no real commitment to the team. i also dont like the long spawn wait it should be like the original. only 5-10 seconds.

The original did not have ONLY 5-10 second respawns. Thats more server config related. Ive been on servers which had up to 30 (spawn wave, not 30 second timer EVERY time) second timers.

Im probably goign to play on servers with comparable respawn timers to the longer RO1 ones.

Right now, Dying has about the same consequences as it has in any other videogame.

Half a minute or more respawn timers will players play more carefully, instead of running, gunning, racking up 3 kills and dying.

The Main thing I cannot stand is fighting for my team for 8-10 min, concentrating on my role for the succes of my team and because I am near the top of the scoreboard getting switched automatically to the other team. Out of the BLUE!!!!! Now this I dont just hate but is BS! I mean really......
Just switch over the last guy to join my side. Thats it.... fair enough!!!! Why reprimand the guys who put int eh most w/ a side? Kind of silly:mad:

Random switching is a gameplay issue. I was playing with the marksman in apartments and finally got into a nice position to dislodge a bunch of my brothers from some heavy fire, then BAM I am choosing a new kit as the opposing team.

I swore loudly...

yeah the team switching can be a bit abrupt. Especially after 20 mins or so of intense fighting against the fascist pigs, and then suddenly....I am one.

Felt like a traitor to the motherland...

Most games autobalance by switching a person after they have died. This is the first game I've ever seen suddenly switch over the living...

Autobalancing the best player (highest overall score on the list) on the losing team (less reinforcements and less overall team score) to the winning team is indeed a gameplay issue.

Also, since a lot of players gets annoyed with the autobalance and instantly switches back to the team they were autobalanced from (yup, you can do that), then it just autobalances another player. And if he switches back it balances another one, thereby massively adding to the problem.

The most hilarious was when I was squad leader on axis. The round was just starting, and I suddenly autobalanced to allied. Well I thought... ok then I will play allied. But not more than a minute later I was suddenly autobalanced back to axis again!

And of course that is not mentioning autobalancing living players ...

They should do what Warband does, if a team needs to be auto-balanced the game will switch the last player to join the server rather than somebody who might of been on an hour already and has him self a decent weapon.

Long spawn timer is probably to balance ability to respawn near squad leader — In Red Orchestra 1 you had to run 500 meters.
I always wanted to trade spawn time for closer spawn position.

Also more spawn time = better organized wave attacks.

That is also what they did in RO1 (if autobalance was turned on the server).

I will agree that the spawn timer can be annoying. However it seems as if the issue stems from when you fall into the que, rather than a broken system.

If the matches were longer, especially FF which should be 10 minutes per round at least. I think that would solve many of the problems. Though in the game type of TE the spawn timer reminds me of Battlefield in a good way.

It allows a few players to group together if your team is doing bad, and gives you a force multiplier in the sense that 4, 5, 7, etc... players will spawning at the same time. Hopefully working together as a group.

Yeah, auto-balance is annoying and not really necessary most of the time, especially in 64 player matches.

It actually punishes you for playing well and attacking objectives. What's the point in trying to win it for your team if you know you're going to get switched over to the weaker team and end up losing? It should switch over the last player to join, or at least wait until the round is over.

I totally agree, the sudden teamswitch is crazy!! Not good!

I actually teamkilled someone when it first happened because I had no idea I had been teamswitched. Let me tell you, nothing abruptly kills the immersion in a game like suddenly being thrown to the other side without warning or choice. No bueno.
