I want to buy it but it doesnt say how many maps or levels it has. I just wouldnt want it and come to find out its only like one map to play on and thats it.

Also curious if anyone know if knows if these are like static maps where you just run around with no goal till timer runs out, if it has some sort of story to it or if its like left 4 dead where you just have campaigns.

Thanks.

Sub-Level 12
5 maps at release. http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showthread.php?t=30501

In each map you will fight waves of specimen until the wave is eliminated. You'll get a break to do stuff, then the next harder wave will come. After you've killed enough waves, the boss shows up. Kill him and win the level. No real story in game, no campaign story mode at release.

Most answers can be found spending a little time reading the forums.

On top of what Nenjin pointed out, TW have already indicated they're working on more maps.

Aside from that, the SDK is out on release, so I'm sure there will be plenty of custom maps :)

Not to mention the oodles of superb community created maps. There are currently a nice selection of KF mod maps which will more likely be ported into the retail game too. So there'll certainly be no shortage.

But you can't deny the community feels abit afraid of a game releasing with only 5 maps. Especially a Zombie Co-Op game. I'm sure the 5 will be polished and be played more than the others when they're released, like CS & De_Dust 1 / 2.

It's just people complained about L4D's 20 maps(21 now with Survival). Though KF is alot slower, so it's easier to forgive. As long as you guys still have that one map I loved, with the Church and such, man I loved that map. If that's gone though, I am SO not buying. :p

So 5 maps/levels. Thats not to bad.

Is it kind of like l4d where you can choose whatever map you want or is it more like a regular shooter type thing where each time you have start allover again and fight your way through all 5?

Just making sure I know what its about since I cruised the forums and found contradicting and bit unclear sounding statements on this stuff.

Thanks.

Then yeah. Zombie killing + Church? I mean cmon, that alone would make me buy it, even if I knew nothing else.

For some reason it is so epic to fight Zombies in front / inside of a church.

Yeah but Left 4 Dead was released in November 2008.... and it STILL only has 21 maps.

Also 20 maps is a joke. L4D had 4 Maps. That's it. They just chopped them up into smaller sections. Boring.

KF will launch with 5 awesome full-size maps, and within a day or two will have new community maps added. Not to mention later maps Tripwire are planning to release.

L4D has been out for 6 months and still has the same 4 maps as it began with. (Lighthouse doesn't count as a full map as it's too small and rubbish). No SDK, screwed game mechanics, Apathetic dev team, and no Winchester.

I can safely bet you that when KF has been out 6 months there will probably be at least 50 different maps, if not more. And they will all be good.

Buddy, what's with the hostility, I feel like you didn't read my post at all. You've basically just said L4D's maps are 1 split into 5, despite each "split" being bigger than the average Source map. Not going to argue semantics about what you consider a map and what really is.

Also, are you seriously think 50 maps will ALL be good? There is no game in the history of gaming that has had 50 maps and all of them being at the level of "Good", and not average.

I imagine the first 5 maps will be pretty well done, then we'll get a slew of 50 community maps, with most being pretty bad and not well thought out, then a few gems that everyone will play. :p

Just calm down, no one here in any way compared l4d with killing floor. And I dont know why youd hate it so much, its a good game and yeah it technically only has 4 levels but its the quality of those levels that makes it so good. Its one thing to not like a game but its another immature thing to just talk about something like that. If you dont like it thats fine, just dont play it then, its really that easy. I mean I dont like call of duty games anymore but I dont run around looking for a excuse to make ignorant complaints against it.

And more maps doesnt = better game. Id rather have a game with fewer quality maps instead of a game with more half assed maps. Thats why like battlefield 2 is so good, even after all these years there are only a few official maps but they are all good. Not to mention Ive never in my 30 years of gaming have I seen a game with 50 maps and they all being perfect, its not possible.

So just relax.
