Steam just downloaded an 18.2mb patch and I'm assuming it's just a fix for the 8/11 update. Confirmation?

I'm downloading yet another 3.4gig today on top of yesterdays 3+gig. Something is really wrong my steam setup. Can anyone help me here?

Aside from the 200+MB patch I also did get the 18MB one. Probably just a fluke in the download.
This happened to me many times before. The best thing to do is to back up your game files in your Steam folder (SteamApps and userdata folders)and then cleanly re-install Steam.
This works well enough, but the problem you mentioned might come and go, so you'll probably be doing this re-install thing more often than not.

Edit: BTW, you should only back up your COMPLETE game files (meaning no missing files). Otherwise, it'd be a waste of time.

This fix didn't work for me I'm afraid. Todays patch, which I'm pretty sure was only 900 mb was a 3.7 gig download for me.
