I mean, you could theoretically shoot your rifle while jumping, but that's been disabled.
Ehm, no it hasn't as far as I can tell. I do it alot.

But I'm also just the l33t user of arcade tactics in a realism game and can still pull them off wonderfully.

I've even worked out my own version of dolphin jumping from a crouch.

also would be ace to implement radio calls for both art or air support. See a no of Il2 or Stuka's flying and dumping a load. Could be great on tank maps especially with the anti tank varients of the two planes (reality was that air support was pretty useless against tanks but scared the crap out of the crews who would then proceed to abandon their vehicles).

Maybe some lovely Russian fem fatales (female soldiers which was the case with the Red Army but make sure they keep their uniforms on for the kiddies) ;)

Did I mention 88's anti tank guns which could be manned by players in strategic tank ambush locals on maps (completely destructable as well). That's enough for now. Just bring on the players.

D'oh! And this whole time I thought you couldn't do that. I may have come to this conclusion since I'm often sprinting when I'm jumping.



Anyway, back to topic: Tank gears (just 2 F + 1 R), or did I say that already.

- decrease jump height
- climb over obstcles
- decrease number of autos/map (especially pre 43-44 maps)
- different tank ammo type
- weapon jamming
- fix EAX problem ... ;)

Nice idea. The air support should have some AI, I mean not just to bomb exactly the position like artillery, but the planes should find a target in the selected area and then engage.

Planes were very effective against armor. A german ace-pilot killed over 300 enemy tanks!

However, the unit sizes in RO really don't warrant air support - even the artillery support is a bit overpowered for a squad/platoon/company to command. Even today it's uncommon for ground units to directly call air-strikes during battle...usually aircraft are assigned patrol areas where they engage targets of opportunity.

It would be better to have aircraft as map elements that come in randomly or at predetermined times, just as they would have on the battlefield. Check out Aksay for a Stuka that randomly dive-bombs the Russian positions, or Kaliskov (sp?), where waves of heavy aerial bombardment occasionally sweep across the map, destroying buildings and fortifications.
