So I've tried to look this up for quite some time but I can't seem to find answer to it. How do I stop the game from deleting the downloaded maps/mods? I tried asking it in-game as well, but no-one knows or remembers the fix to it.

If you have low FPS, have you tried disabling Xfire In-Game or shutting it completely? Have you tried disabling the Steam In-Game Community? Disabling Xfire in-game made my game go at least 20 fps more. Same goes for Napoleon Total War, and Shogun 2 Total War. Just wanted to share.
