Without knowing anything else, make sure the mic is on, the mic is plugged into the mic port, and Windows hasn't muted the microphone input.

And test the mic with Sound Recorder or something else to make sure it's got to do with KF.

its not he mic . the mic works i just have to plug it tin BEFORE i start the game,it doesnt work when i plug it in DURING the game.

What kind of microphone is it? If it's one of those crappy USB ones then that's no surprise, the engine probably doesn't actively check for devices during gameplay.

the engine is the crappy one! not my usb mic..so theres no solution then if i want to plug it in during the game then??

The mic is configured through the default Windows sound panel. KF will use whatever you have configured there. If you're using a USB mic, when you plug it in you're creating a new, separate sound device for the panel to manipulate. When you plug it in after starting KF it doesn't work because the game is still using the device that was active when it started.

I have the same problem. I have a USB mic, it's configured properly in windows and it also works fine in other games (Portal 2 co-op, Serious Sam 3, etc) but doesn't want to work in KF. The weird thing is is that it used to work in KF but now it doesn't. My running in terror just isn't the same without the screams and crying to go with it.
Any thoughts?
