Mounted guns confirmed?

I do not believe anyone has had a tripod MG in a pc game that was moveable. I think it would be a first if it was implemented. I am still glad to see the tripod MG in game just as it is now. The maxim MG is going to be a great addition to game play as well.

FDF mod for Operation Flashpoint had also HMGs and mortars that were man-portable modular weapon systems.

I know, I meant if someone who has played any of the above games that are FPS and not RTS can explain roughly how the 1rst person animation was and if it is easy enough to be added at this "late" stage of the development.

ACE doesn't really have first person animations. It just utilizes the gear system as a method of carrying and the "building/healing/making wine out of water" animation, for loading fresh ammo boxes, deploying the tripod, and attaching the gun to the tripod.

What about Call Of Duty: United Offensive?

That had bipod mounting MG34's and 30 Cals.

FDF mod's HMGs and mortars for OFP back in 2003 were implemented by scripts and inventory system. The solution were functional in multiplayer. The gun was divided as the gun part and tripod. One guy picked up the gun and it was put in his inventory. Same thing to the tripod as well.

The weapon could be assembled later using the same method: the tripod was applied first and the gun part was attached from the inventory system by script. The parts were never visible in 1st person view if remember right. The scripts were executed by using the ofp's actions menu.
