Any decent time wasting games for a netbook?

I bought a standard Acer netbook a few months ago for work and it get's used all the time since then.

I was just thinking perhaps some good games must be available for a netbook so what do you recommend if anything? Online games would be good as well since I have multiple wifi spots throughout the day where I have to stop and wait on things.

Armageddon Empires, you can drown many hours in that game.

I played CS and DoD just to test before I handed a NetBook over to my son for uni.
Worked really well.

UT99. With all the mods and the amount of people still playing, you can get 100's of hours out of this.

Battlefield 2 or UT2003 / UT2004 might run, but not sure.

Dude, seriously. It's gotta be one of the best time-wasters EVER. It's without question one of the most fun games I've ever played on a PC.

Anything from the Win98 and early XP era should be fine, and a lot of DOS stuff aswell with DosBox, if it works for my ancient laptop (Acer Travelmate 2410, think 1.2Ghz single core, 512 Mb shared RAM), it should work with any recent netbook aswell.

Which was powered by the faster Intel A100 Celeron. The later Intel Atom N2xx series was slower.

Eee 1000HE - Atom N285 - didn't have much problem with it either.

I have a Presario CQ61 which was a work laptop at my old job but now in the world of the graveyard helpdesk guy I use it for entertainment. Some great old games I like to play;

- Starcraft
- Fallout (1, 2 and Tactics)
- Doom 95 (with a ****ton of mods and TC's)
- Crusader: No Remorse and No Regret (took some ****ing about with DOS box)
- NES, SNES, Genesis, Mame ROM's (I use my PSP as a wireless gamepad for these)

I get paid more to sit around playing games than work really :IS2:
