Collaborative community weapon?

From what I've seen is, you guys have a few talented modders on the killing floor forums , but most of em loose interest or get busted doing something or whatever and the project ends.

I'm sure people have thought and done this before but I never really have seen a thread or anything about it.

My suggestion would be to have one solid idea for a weapon and the main components be broken up into smaller tasks.

this would allow a lot of new things to be opened up:
-Would have less people getting bored of the same thing and dropping the project
-would have less people getting impatient and stealing stuff
-there would be a lot less for each individual to work on and it would promote higher quality pieces to be put together into one big glories piece of big gloriousness and piece-ness
-There would be more input into balancing and stuff
-Awesome stuff would be created.
-Ice cream? I dunno, something great as a reward here.

I personally have no modding experience at all (I would like to get into it) so I'm not going to boss you all around and tell everyone what to do, but I feel it is a shame that such talent isn't being answered with the rewards it really deserves.

I would just be sort of an organizer of the project (I would get no credit for it) and if everyone worked together, we could make some real magic happen (some real, bloody, head exploding magic [yeah, the good kind])

If you'd like to sign up, please do so! we could potentially be doing tripwire's job for them, and you know how much people love it when you do their job for them!

Here's an example idea I have, we can work with this or scrap it for something else:

CURRENT LIST OF IDEAS:
Benelli M4 super 90 CURRENT PROJECT (by my glorious, insightful self):
support specialist perk ('cause they really need more weapons!)
7 or 6 round magazine
Slower reload than the M3 super 90
Semi automatic fire: Faster ROF that the M3 as well as not having to repump the shotgun in between shots
lower recoil than the M3

Paraffin flamethrower (by mamoo):
Longer range than flamethrower.
Less damage.
Creates a splash of flaming liquid when it hits something, these splashes can set other specimens on fire.
Has two clips of about 300 ammo each.

It would serve functionally as the AK47 is to the L22(Bullpup) and the SCAR-H, The M4 would be in between the M3 and the AA12, and because of the high price of the AA12, it would still have use in the mid-game, with the hunting shotgun providing another alternative. also, this is basically a zombie game, and the more shotguns in a zombie game the better!

I really hope this collaborative effort gets going (even if it isn't my idea) because I think you all can do it!
PEOPLE INTERESTED IN THIS IDEA:
Lunatic[BoM](Modeling)
yoyobatty(Scripting)
crono(coding/textures)

Suggestions are great but I really hope we can get more modders than people making wishlists.

I know I'm not nay better but if there's something that needs to be done then I'm more than willing to do it (I could try modeling or something)

I'm not discouraging idea suggestions, though, I just hope we can get some modders all up in here to get this rolling!

So if you're suggesting a weapon and want to help out, please say so!

Count me in. Have some modeling (not too much) and programming experience, never worked with unreal script (or what do you use for KF?), but if someone would show me few samples of script, I think, I would be able to make something. My friend has really good ideas, he always can think many things, like scenarios, new weapons that would add new experience to the game and etc.
This is really good idea, if we good group up, at least half of modders from this forum, I think we could make some nice stuff. :)

That's awesome! thanks for volunteering!

I think that it is unreal script, I really can't say it would be easy or not , but I'm confident you're up to it!

By the way, what do you think of the M4 super 90 and Paraffin flamethrower ideas? are you interested?

I'll be doing the scripting and coding around here.

Awesome! I'll add you to the list, thanks for your support!

If we can get an animator and someone to make a texture, I think that would cover it, right?

The sorrow could do the animating if he was up for it, then we would be set for now.

Also yoyo, do you have an idea for a weapon or does the M4 super 90 or the flamethrower sound good for you?

I haven't heard of this L22...

L22 is the carbine version of the L85, in this game it's the Bullpup

Sorry for my gun nerding being confusing, lol.

This is it with a SUSAT scope, to help clear things up

^'Fraid not, the carbine L85 is on the right, here's the entire family. Perhaps someone would be interested in changing the bullpup or AK47 to one of these babies.

The latest weapon in the SA80 family is the recently adopted L22 carbine, which is issued to tank crews of Royal Armoured Corps. This weapon is available in two versions, L82A1 and L82A2, the latter being fitted with additional Picatinny rail on the right side of front grip base.
Here's my source:
http://world.guns.ru/assault/as22-e.htm

It's the L22. I know this because I read it on the internet, and the internet never lies! But whatever, I guns a gun.

But there should be a model to change the bullpup back to an L85, as well as a model for a full length AK.
tons of stuff we can do, we just need to get started!
