I was thinkin maybe a m60 for the harder diffculties but make it so you have to be on a certian difficulty or the last level. And possibly a m107 for a long range killing, I mean it really wouldnt be that easy to use unless you have a group of people around you protecting you but yea. Another suggestion i have is maybe you can buy accesories for your weapons at the trader, such as a scope or extended mag. or custom ammo. I love killing floor i just think that there should be a lil more custimization in it. instead of having a preset person or items that you can choose from.

I agree with the whole customization thing and yes, maybe a heavy gunner class that uses lmg's like the 'm60' as you suggested, a 'bren', a 'l86 lsw', an 'm240' and a portable vicker's machine gun? I would suggest getting basic guns that other games have first:

Sharpshooter: m40a3, Lee Enfield

Firebug: Mid-Range Blow Torch (dual wieldable), m203 attachment only + incendiary grenades

Demolition: Bouncing Betty Grenades, Double Barrel M79 lol

Commando: M4A1, L85a2, Famas, F2000

Berserker: Industrial-sized meat cleaver, dual wieldable mini chainsaws

Medic: mp5a1, P90, m3 shorty

Support Specialist: L86 LSW, M60

I'd actually love to see the FAMAS in-game. It's a pretty stylish weapon, and I've been in love with it since I first saw it on MGS2. Good times...

But I'd like if it were burst-firing, with really accurate bursts. It's how the gun behaves in real life anyways...

It also can have a bayonet, so a 'zerker/commando crossover weapon is possible with it :D

As for most other weapons, I'd say "maybe" :/

Adding to this,
Firebug: thermite grenades or Molotov's instead of just "incendiary grenade"

Demolition: Concussion grenades and Old-School TNT

Commando: An XM29 OICW

Support Specialist: A TOZ-194M

Thought I might throw my 5 cents in :)

Excellent man, we just need to suggest as many guns as we can and you've got a good selection, I don't think TWI will care to make these unless they sell them as dlc, which if it encourages them to make more guns, then I will just keep buying and buying more and more dlc packs. All in all, they should just make large weapon/character dlc packs. Three months into the new year and the last update was in 09, what happened to continuous updates they said they'd do? :/

Guess what? They have other games they work on. They can't subsist off on a few games with free updates.

And you know something else? The update they are working on, it is mainly because the weapons are not currently balanced. Guess what happens when you add ninety billion more? Balancing.

Mindlessly adding weapon to kf is not the way to go. If you were to add weapons, they should fill a role that isn't already present in the game. Otherwise you are just making other weapons obsolete. TWI does not have the manpower to add a million weapons nor the time to balance them.

Contrary to what most people seem to think posting ideas and weapons and 'letting TWI decide' is not a good plan. TWI is going to decide anyway and they don't need your help dredging up a list of weapons. Now if you can come up with a cool idea, show how it would be balanced, give the reason why it should be in the game, and defend it against the onslaught of critical forum posters, then TWI might be inclined to take a look into your idea.

Being so critical of forum posters isn't going to help either. I say we just make a list of the 10 to 15 weapon best suggestions for each class. This must be done by the middle of march. Then, we vote on the top 5 for each later on with majority voting. After these are done, we then sign a petition to them stating our intent to purchase the next killing floor update if at least 2/5 suggestions for each class are included in the next update. Our goal should be to gather at least 5000 signers by early April.

You know your right at some points, true, Killing Floor isn't their primary objective but I paid for this game, and I don't think you should represent balancing as an issue much. I currently have 300 hours into this game, 290 of which was when the game first came out. Then I was extremely bored afterwards, so I thought why? I play 30 other games i.e half life/2, counterstrike, nwn, farcry/2, arma/2. Why is it that these games don't get boring after 10+ years? Sure I leave and I come back but for one reason. All these games involve customization in multiple ways, even every game I haven't listed. Killing Floor is a great game and could have much more potential to it but there is no customization whatsoever. Custom character skins are about as far as this game will go without TWI releasing extra content. And besides, with people making suggestions and actually offering to pay for more content, isn't that a 'balanced' issue enough? I was extremely grateful when they released the last weapons update but when you look at the game as a whole, it just could've been better imo. And if you look through all the pages in the idea/suggestions forum, you'll see everyone is trying to make customization requests, whether it be new guns, different hud, new monsters, etc. I'm far from being the only one who knew this game could've been enhanced. Another idea for the balancing, TWI has done a pretty good job with it, not every new gun that would be added to the game has to have different stats, some guns can even have the same stats as others. Some people probably wouldn't even notice the difference anyways.

And, if you consider creating new models a pain, I'm sure there are forumite(s) used to making 'em. TWI could launch a skin-building contest for current weapons (for instance, a player could create a skin to replace current ak-47 with another weapon).

I'm critical because people don't get it. Just like you don't. TWI isn't going to do this because they are working on another game. KF has never been expensive and updates have always been free so TWI need to release another game to make more money. Adding purchasable weapon packs is devisive; in general you produce added content only when it is superficial and player specific because otherwise the playerbase falls apart into groups that buy extra stuff and those who don't. Just because you or I would buy it doesn't mean other players will.

@NOD
There is a lot of room for customization through the dev kit that comes with killing floor. Guns, maps, and characters can all be created. It takes little time to learn but lots of time to be good at so many people don't try. If you really want to see something though, you can make it happen.

Balance is key to any game being good. If they released heatseeking plasma missle knives that deal 2 million per hit and cost 2 pounds for 500 of them, then what would happen to the game. In the same vein a weapon might break the game when in combination with other perks or mods that all seem inoculous when seperately analysed. So you test and test so that there the game isn't broken with 6 man SS team with EBRs.
...
oh wait.

But both of you need to understand that KF isn't the only game TWI has and TWI isn't as a big dev group, yet they have treated their fan well and released cheap, quality games. Yet all they get is rabid players complaining about needing MOAR.

As usual, you are way off the mark. If I was so wrong, then why would they have forums for posting ideas in the first place? Or why is there a category in the forums called "ideas and suggestions." Strange, isn't it. I would even go as far as to say your comments are trolling but that isn't my job.

well this is my wish list that will never be.

Commando: M4A1, a in between weapon from bullpup and AK. More damage then bullpup, larger mag than AK but less damage then it, Iron sights that are as clear as the Lever action rifle.

Support: M1014, 6 shells, would have the same spread as the AA12, (think there is only 5 pellets) does slightly less damage then the pump action, (for balance sake)

Sharpshooter: an ACOG scope for the M14

Zerker: A really large bat, or hammer, (blunt weapons really)
