Very nice, although a lot propaganda-material (only natural of course).

I also think, that those "after the war" paintings were the best ones.
That old man was also my favourites. Those paintings are humane and touching. Not that pompous and propagandist as some of those war paintings. Allthough not all those war paintings were that "tasteless" propaganda, as you might expect.

That is excellent...
To be Engraved...
this is one of the only painting i know that catch that verry special "veteran" look in his eyes
ive seen it in a lot of pictures, but never in a painting

A while ago the local uni art museum had a 'Art of Russian' which included a few Czar era stuff, and lot of soviet era stuff. One of the best pieces they had was one of the many large-format painting of Lenin giving a speech to assembled people.. it was pretty awesome.. I even bothered to ask if I could take a non-flash photo with me in it.. I shoudl have just done it, but oh well.
