The FoV issue solved

This is awesome. The best thing is Matrox won't be able to sell it's overpriced TripleHead2Go or DoubleHead2Go. Pick an ATI card and voila, it does everything for you. Nicely played ATI.
I hope Matrox doesn't die though. Hopefully they will be bought by one of the major graphics hardware manufacturers.
They have very nice TMDS/RAMDAC and other ASICs which already support this but lack 3D power, they should have used ATI/nVidia chips under licence.

I hope not. There's only AMD and nVidia anyways. Less players means less competition, higher prices and less innovation.

but less competition will on the other hand mean more compatibility, imagine the chaos and the limitless bugs in games for every single card and how dificult would it be to make games compatible with everything, there would be always a sector who cant play the games and in the end the most popular will monopolize the market

I agree, higher vertical screen space would be welcome. Still though it is a very specialised product and i think if you supplied them enough cash they would build a system for you. It would probably cost you an arm and a leg.

You can really go balls out with PC hardware and its brilliant. If some of you think this is a stupid idea then your looking at it the wrong way. It will not be a requirement and few will make the most of it but the fact that the choice is there if you want it sums it all up. Its doubtful Eyefinity will be a popular solution for most but its still a great achievement nonetheless and anything that gives you more options to create and customize is a positive step.

Well, that and isn't the resolution one of the more key things when dealing with the monitor rather than simply the dimensions? Those only display at 1600.

"Independent of operating system, the Radius320™ can be used on Windows, Macintosh and Linux operating systems. You will need to have enough video cards to support three DVI outputs at 1600 by 1200 resolution."

3 * 1 600 = 4 800

So the resolution would be 4800x1200.
