Sarcasm.. have to love it from morons.
Quote from a PROFESSIONAL: "I would agree that a small amount of shot may make it to 300 yards, a very small amount. Depending on the choke you are using I would say the maximum lethal limit is 40-50 yards.".
In other words, the '10' meter theory is preposterous to think it could only kill from that short range.
I didn't exactly calculate out the exact distance and all here. I was just tossing a theory out there... But I can see that this thread isn't going anywhere anyway...
Basically, I support the Hunting Shotgun having more spread. It's great, makes it unique and all. But in it's current form, the spread is WAY too much, IMO. It's near-useless past point-blank...if you're lucky, you'll hit with a couple of pellets, but almost never enough to kill unless you're right next to them...
I agree with Joker 100% that it makes for a waste of money and health, as on Hard, most of the critters will hit you HARD while you're locked in the auto-reload animation after your shots spread out at 75-degree angles from the gun barrel and completely miss that Gorefasts charging you. Twice. While the normal shotgun takes 'em down every single time. IMO, the only real reason to carry the Hunting Shotgun is to save Real Shotgun ammo at point-blank...
Not being able to reload after a single shot and not being able to NOT auto-reload when the Hunting Shotty is empty only compounds the issues...
