Level Design Ladder volume problem

I don't think players or specimen have climbing animations. Ladders seem to be conspicuously absent in official KF maps. I'm guessing that's for balance reasons, because camping on top of a ladder creates an ideal choke point to defend.

Anyways, if you need them to drop down, just have them drop normally. It may not look as 'clean' as climbing down a ladder...but it's arguably better for game play and challenge I think.

@lethal
The fact he is using a ladder makes me assume that his geometry leaves no room for a stair case. Or maybe I don't get your meaning.

We all know zombies aren't afraid of heights and thus its illogical for them to climb down a ladder. If you're happy with how they climb up, just put a forced path in for them to jump down (or what Nenjin said?). If you want them to do a great leap up the ladder instead of climbing it up, well I think you need a UTJumpPad to do that. I use these plenty for getting my zombies from their spawn areas into the map, but I've noticed that players can use them too. You'll have to find out how to stop players using the jumppad.

Thanks I'll give that a go. Do you know what the minimum dimensions are of a hole that zombies off all type can fit through?

No but this link gives you guidelines on dimensions for ladders in general, if that helps.

Actually the real reason for my posting again is I'm doing a ladder at the moment too, although mine won't require use by the zombies :D. But just a real basic question for you, is whether or not there is a good static mesh in the available packages, for a ladder? If you found one please tell me where?
