Anyways, the ArmA 2 demo is supposed to go live either today or tomorrow, for those who still want to try it.

I already pre ordered but i'll try the demo anyway.

I think this game is going to cripple my GTX 280 @ 2560x1600.

Anyone with SLI got this game?

Not yet but I'll be trying the demo when it comes.

I'm not too hopeful though, unless things have chnaged dramticaly since arma1.

Removing the motion blur and depth of field is supposed to increase frame rates by a **** load is it not?

For those that have the game; would you be nice enough to post your system info, resolution, detail settings and frame rates?

i see the bw mod guys dont have to work for uniforms, flecktarn is already in.

afaik the biggest resource eater is the texture fillrate thing.

apparently if you set it over 100% there not that much difference compared to just 100 looks wise

I do think the game looks sharper with fillrate set at 200% but yeah, it eats resources that not a lot of people can spare.
Basically it uses twice the amount of pixels your screen would normally use, if you have 800x600 for example it will use 1600x1200 if you set the fillrate at 200%.

Ahh everytime I play ArmA2 I get a serious headache. I'm 95% sure it's because of the blur+average fps+general shakiness especcially while running+freeaim. Is there any way/mod to turn down/off the damn blur? I even had to take an aspirin and lay down today lol

Getting briefings to work in ArmA 2 gives me a serious headache.
I have absolutely no clue at all how to pull it off.
I need a briefing.sqf or something, but there is no way of getting a hold of one to use as an example, or the base of my own briefings.
And i couldnt create my own either, i have no clue how those things work lol.

I'm not using it myself but if you use the same setup as I posted below and disable VSYNC in the (Nvidia) control panel it helps a lot.

I can't put this one down, great game.

Yeah, i got it working today
I extracted a mission from somebody else to get the files i needed.

First off a thank you to Junker who helped me getting custom sound to work.
A tribute to him can be found in the mission!

I finished my first mission for ArmA 2 today.
You, as an 8-man Spetznaz squad called Boris, will HALO into enemy territory to blow up a CDF Shilka and if possible, eliminate an American officer who has taken charge of the CDF forces.

The mission features:
- Supports up to 8 players
- HALO insertion
- Custom sound and music
- Optional objective: Find and kill the American officer
- Support your comrades in battle: drag and heal the wounded
- Working briefing

The mission should work bugfree, however if you encounter any please tell me and i will try to work them out.

To play the mission, place the .pbo in your MPMissions folder.
The mission also works in single player, just place it in the Missions folder.

We are busy with finding a server, there is a possibility of one being sponsored.
If that doesnt happen, we're just gonna rent one ourselves.

Anyways, i updated the mission, the old one is no longer valid.
This is version 1.2, i updated two things:
- moved the marker (and thus task-waypoint) for Team Junker to a different location, it was situated in lake Prud before.
- fixed tasks not being signed off as completed.
