[Game] The Armed Assault thread

Ace 1.02 is out, definatly worth a checkout, from what im hearing so far ( released only hours ago ) apparently it makes combat against coop alot more realistic.

3ird Inf Div marksman i was chatting with on TS was saying (parahprase here). when shot in the leg the bots will stumble, get up and limp to cover. When shot in the torso the bots often shrug it off (they are now wearing full plate armor), took as much as 3 .308's to take down some infantry.

Not to metion a boatload of bug fixes, new models for the m16/m4, new scar loadouts, truckload of new sounds, ETC (for those who liked ace, this is a cherry on top of an already nice cake)

I get it! In OFP, you'd command 100 troops. In ArmA, that became 1 dozen. In ArmA 2, you get to be a photographer taking shakey-cam footage of soldiers that you never command.

Progress!

If i understood it correctly, you are supposed to be able to command multiple squads later on in the game, while you start off with a smaller squad.
Basically just like OFP's learning curve, only you start commanding people right away.

This screenshot pretty much confirms that, and there was also a video somewhere where the player was sending around an infantry squad and a tank squad.

This would be the command map from above

If i believe correctly, you are even supposed to be able to set up small bases as the frontline shifts, but i'm not sure if that still is going to be in.

So yeah, progress.

QUICK EDIT: i found a video concerning the new 'high command'.
