Outrageous vandalism

In a thousand years, that random act of vandalism may be just as important as the statues themselves... For example, the sphinx of Egypt was vandalized in 1378 when a sufi named Sa'im al-dahr cut of it's nose.
I'm not saying vandalism is a good thing, in general, but historical artifacts are what we make them and the way these objects withstands the tests of time creates even more history. We know that some people long ago decided to pile a bunch of big *** rocks together and form what is now known as Stonehenge. And we also know that some later visitors thought it'd be fun to carve their names onto the stones. That equals 2 historical facts about stonehenge, that in a cumulative manner can only add to the history of the artifact, making it even more interesting for future generations... :cool:
