I'm grabbing the demo now - It's got some pretty good reviews!
A castle and seige game of sorts

Historically correct game, which can be played for a long, long time. Good balance and playability, excellent possibilities for tactical maneuvers. Both funny and serious at the same time;

LOWS
Poor tutorial and help. Game dynamics are inadequate for beginners. Sometimes, it can be overly difficult, as it requires precise micro-management even in skirmish scenarios.

definitely a fun game and a good time waster, but yeah it's basicly combat via mass manpower and firepower

I thought it would be like an old game I had called Castles that had really indepth castle building

This one is 2d isometric, there is a StrongHold2 which is 3D

Castles had indepth castle design and building, where you can specify thickness and height of walls etc

would like a game like that with the economic aspect of Stronghold/Simcity along with combat like Total War MedievaL 2 etc

Yeah, M&B is a great game, but its an rpg/sim, not a rts/rtt.
