[Movie] Best Shots at What The Cloverfield Monster Looks Like?

Do Not See This Film. It Sucked Major ***.

Do Not See This Film. It Sucked Major ***.

One of the most retarded P.O.S. films I have seen in awhile. Stupid whining characters, stupid plot (which did not even exist), and an even more stupid monster.

SPOILER

The creature has hind legs like godzilla, the face of a troll with a protruding jawline, and it's front legs are like spider-leg nubs. It's a fleshy pale colour and drops off "ant lion" spawn akin to HL2. Really retarded. Abram tanks, jet fighters (F16? F22?), and a stealth bomber can't even cause a dent in the damn thing. Really stupid.

Well they couldn't exactly err on the side of realism or it'd be like, "monster attacks city and knocks over a building before having it's abdomen blown in by multiple JDAM's".

It was ok, not great, not bad, just average. I went in expecting it to be how it was, there were people loudly complaining about it at the end in the theatre I saw it in.

I have read somewhat of the back story of this, since I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It was nice to see a movie done in a non standard Hollywood way.

Apparently, the monster most likely came from the depth of the ocean, a place such as the Mariana's trench. (I believe that is the deepest point in the ocean?). So to live and survive in those depths it developed of course very thick and tough hide, able to withstand an arsenal of small arms, artillery and heavy bombing. Which actually is not so hard to believe.

Also, this creature is apparently a baby, it is something like 1/4 of the size it would get to as an adult. Which makes one wonder where is the adult version of it.

Yeah you could be right but if you lived in Mariana Trench for many years does that make you almost invincible to TOW missile strikes, self propelled artillery attacks, F-18 strikes, and B-2 bomber attacks ? Probably not.

The more I look at it the monster kinda resembles the alien from the Alien films in a gigantic form -

I liked the moive (I just saw it yesterday at the theater it's premier weekend for it over here).

I liked not knowing anything about the monster itself; what it was, where it came from and what happened to it.

The camera hand shake was a tad overdone and could have been toned down a bit.

BUT

What I like the most about the film is that I'm still thinking of these things this long after seeing the film. I don't think I have done this with any movie in many many years.
This lead me to see what more theories circulate on the net and I started to discover all kinds of fun stuff that is associated with the "viral" marketing campaign.

All the characters in the movie has a MySpace page and they are all friends with each other. (Huds MySpace page as an example http://www.myspace.com/hudsonplatt)

Several video clips about events surrounding what happened:

Here's another example

A homepage for a fake company involved in some events in the movie :)
http://www.tagruato.jp/

The page for the company Rob is going to be Vice President for :)

I guess I fell for the hype, but only after I saw the movie itself. Now I want a sequel that explains everything >.<
