Well...well hosts France beaten by Argentina. The French were way too nervous judging by the amount of errors they made.

France didn't show up due to La Portes insane selection.
Inexperienced full back was targeted and France put on the backfoot at every contact point, well done Pumas on a well worked set of basic tactics.

Eagles showed the spirit of what rugby used to be in the amateur era.

Rugby world cup is a marathon, not a sprint. There are many more matches to be played before the final.
For the record though, as an Englishman, yes we were bloody disappointing in our first match.

Argentina were impressive. People were suprised in their win despite winning 4 of the 5 previous games against france.
New Zealand were impressive, Italy were just far too lazy and in awe of the kiwi's in the first 20 minutes. The last italian try should have been given. England Poor extremely boring and one dimensional.
Anyway Ireland play tonite. C'mon IRELAND!

Excellent day, where the underdogs really displayed vista and their real love of the game, and were rewarded with at least one try each...
Very enjoyable, I didn't grew bored in 6 hours of rugby.

Agreed, Ireland looked like the minnows in this game.
Refereeing standard is shockingly bad, the weaker nations do not get a fair crack of the whip.

Samoa were good, but they rely too much on their physical game! Our boys were just too strong for them & all those tough tackles were all in vain!
