Summer Update Sneak Preview

Got to play on it for a few minutes today ... Krivoi Rog is absolutely gorgeous.

As for the rest of the graphics stuff ... someone mentioned earlier on in this thread that it looks like a whole new game, and they could not have been more right. It's like a night and day difference, and if anything the performance is better. I was getting 65-70 fps on standard RO, with the beta I'm getting 75-80 fps, with everything maxed on a GeForce 7600 GT.

Even the other maps are just stunningly beautiful. I can't even describe what a difference it is. I'm not sure if it's the bloom, the FSAA, the Anisotropic filtering or what ... but it's just amazing.

Oh - and Yoshi's not the problem, really. It's Ramm-Jaeger. Keep him away from the damned Tigers!

It was a most enjoyable first RO beta session.
Best game I've had for a while.

Yes, with 16x + 4x AA and Bloom, I have kept good fps.
Before I had no bloom, for obvious reasons and AA turned off because of the need to take endless screen-shots.

The graphic optimization is excellent.

Erm.. in my humble opinion !

I agree totally with Peter.Steel. The game look's absolutely fabulous. FPS now on average 75 - 90. In standard RO i had on average 65 - 75.

The new tank map is really good. Many depressions for hull down positioning. I got my first 2200 m kill today. It just rocks.

And really, you should look out for Yoshiro in his SU, he is bad, real bad.:D

Will try it further this weekend, hope to see you there.

Can any of our resident techie guys help this old timer techno phobe out?
What exactly is Anti Aliasing and Antriscopic settings filters?
Do I have to adjust something when the update comes out? Is it on RO already?

These settings could previously be enabled through your graphics card but in the new patch players will be able to set these settings directly from in the game. Once the update comes out you can change these settings under Configuration > Display if you want. Simply turn on these graphical options, and then test the game to see the difference in graphical quality vs FPS drop.

As for what these options actually do;

Let the internets be your friend. He's really smart. ;)
