the Roguelikes

ever since I read the thread on Dward Fortress I felt more and more to try out Roguelike games. so far I tried DoomRL, TomeNET (multiplayer roguelike) and finally Dungeon Crawl. I never thought I would play these games because of the ascii based graphics.. but I gave them a chance and I've become addicted to this genre. gameplay is amazing because of the detail and complexity which make them very realistic. and on the other hand, ascii graphics let me use my imagination more than recent 3d eye candy games. and for some odd reason, they feel more real. does anybody else play these games or am I a loner? if I'm not, what roguelikes have you played and please post your character sheets.

i play Dwarf fortress. i didnt think i would like it as much as i do, just because of the graphics. but its actually really fun, and like you said, addicting.

i might try out some of the ones you've mentioned. but, DF is a real challenge if you make it far.

so no, you're not a loner.
