A winter clothes mod pack would be pretty nice. As an example I liked how the skins in COD2 made it look like it was actually cold in Stalingrad

Well I dont have an opinion on the historical accuracy of the gloves soldiers used back then, but I have noticed a bug thats worth mensioning.

I've only really seen it when AI is present on the map, but when you are dead and viewing the battlefeild from another players perspective, the glove texture on the first person model for the K98 Sniper Rifle doesn't show correctly, and you get the green "default" texture instead.

Never thought the MG guy would wear Chainmail gloves.

Always thought it was Asbestos gloves.

Wouldn't they freeze their fingers off on the ostfront wearing chainmail gloves in the middle of the general winter?

Well, they could be wearing socks on their hands. As far as changing the color of the glove and saving the devs working time, you could just imagine they're a different color or whatnot.
