That MG with a bayonet is RAD, I believe it is the same type used in the Film 'The Great Raid'. One of the Americans gets stabbed by a Death-squad Commandant. (I think this actually happened in real life)

That's a clip from "Tales of the Gun" on the History channel that's been dubbed into Japanese. I have the original english episode recorded.

Oh and "The Great Raid" is a highly underrated war film, and is based on a true story. Unlike most recent war movies it actually stuck to the real story.

I have a good book on the raid, the name escapes me now though.
I never saw the movie, it kinda reminded me of Windtalkers, so I didn't give it much thought.

The love story was too damn trite. They should have edited it out.

The rest was a great war movie.

The Japanese loved bayonets on their MGs and scopes, too.

I agree. I was pretty under-whelmed by the movie overall. The horribly contrived love story killed it for me.
