Server What does the ~~~~~~:s mean?

I tried to search forums but didn't find anything related to my question... So here it goes:

Lately there has been alot of players who play with nick like this: ~~~~~~~~. Its very hard to kick these players because their nick is really something like this: hfgrt=9 and their ID is sometimes missing. And they never change their nick even if we as admins ask to do so. Are they playing with pirated game or something like that?

It displays like that when the characters are unsupported, like if it is in cyrillic or something. I believe the developers are working on multiple language support to correct it.

No, we aren't working on multiple language support.

No, they aren't playing with pirated games.

Most likely answers: they are playing with PCs (like mine) enabled for other character sets (such as Russian/Cyrillic). The default key set to switch between languages is "Alt-Shift", which also happens to be dive to prone. People need to change the default. OR they may intentionally be typing in Cyrillic and YOUR PC can't cope with displaying it

Just use the kickvoting menu if you're logged in as an admin. Easy.

When I'm in game and logged in as admin, I just type admin kick list which gives me a numbered list, then I see what number the offending person is and type admin kick xx (xx = 13 or whatever number they are) They be gone.

i dont like to kick with kicklist.
with some strange reasons it seems to be sometimes to kick the wrong players. perhaps joining / leaving of other players before...

thats why i use the webadmin with alt+tab.

I use both methods...but I prefer to use webadmin...just in case its gonna be a ban. I just keep it minimized for quick access...and swift justice.

while ingame i like to kick by number. When logged in as admin type listplayers and you'll see all players with a number infront of it.

You can just kick the number of the player , so you don't have to type the full playername.

yep, thats right.

but with some strange reaons from time to time it kicks the wrong player, what is really ****.
it seems that if player leave/join between kicklist and kick it could change the number of the player you want to kick.

Thank you all for the answers! It seems that ~~~~~~ players are mostly from Russia, so Wilsonam is right.

And yes, webadmin is the best tool to kick any player!
