Aerosans!

They wouldn't be out of place on the winter or snow maps.

Also, since it said some Aerosan designs could also carry extra troops like the halftrack and Universal Carrier, maybe they could be a replacemant for the UC on the winter maps, while the UC is the troop transport of choice on the summer maps.

Of course the differences would be easy to see, the Aerosan would be a LOT faster than the UC or halftrack, but its turning radius would be extreemly poor at the higher speeds, it would probably be very noisy too, and leave a HUGE cloud of snow because of its propeller, making it easy to see.

It sounds neat, but we probably need a lot more info, and we would also need to investigate a German counter so that an inclusion of an Aerosan wouldn't create any unbalance.

Jeeze, I swear some of you have no faith in Tripwire.

Just because there are a few (and some serious) problems with the BA-64 doesn't mean it going to happen again, especially on an entirely different vehicle.

Sometimes I read these threads, and many of them have very good ideas, but all it takes is one person to post "OMG, its a new Cl0wn Car!!!" and everyone starts piling the thread with how bad this vehicle would be when all they are really talking about is the BA and not the suggestion.

Besides, how can you even assume the Aerosan (or any of the other good infantry vehicle suggestions) would even compare to the BA when the vehicle doesn't even exist in the game. You do realise that they are suggesting the vehicle because of the fact that it isn't there.

Just give us all a break, the BA is a lot of trouble I wont deny that, but quit associating it with entirely different vehicles that dont exist in RO yet, and quit assuming Tripwires going to make the same mistake again, they allready realize whats wrong with the BA and they are working on it, its unlikely their going to cause the same problem with another vehicle after what theyve seen allready.

Now if you all would quit screaming "OMG Cl0wn Car!!!" this thread would have a better chance for some decent argumant/counter-argument so its inclusion can be seriously discussed.

I encourage anybody who wishes to seriously discuss this thread to please post your opinon, weather you agree or disagree doesn't matter, as long as you want to seriously discuss it.

you cant run people over with it very good.

Oh, I'm sure it would hurt a bit if you got hit by one. LOL!

Heres a page on Propellor Sleighs in general.

And heres a few more info pages on the Russian Aerosans, I havent read them all the way through yet, but production numbers might be in the first main link.

This next link is in Russian, but its got a few good pictures of the Aerosans in action, and that area they are fighting in looks like it could make for a good map to play in too, maybe it could be a map custom built to use the Aerosan in, assuming its production numbers are high enough for use in RO.

Hopefully we'll be able to scrounge up some production numbers soon.
