On this note, why not allow resupply like a machine gunner? On the PTRD damage issue, I'd prefer disabling ammo criticals or at least greatly reducing their severity/likelyhood for this weapon only. Less of an insta-kill weapon and more devoted to engine knockouts, track snapping (if this is likely) and weak point damage (simulated by gradual degredation of health).
I don't think that resupply is historically accurate......
But I agree with you on the damage stuff.
