recording demo's

When playing back a demo, is there an option to view 1st person equipped with your gun ect ?
I could only get the view of myself running round with no hands/arms/guns.

yeah i have fraps, man thats pretty crap if thats the only view to play back demo's.

It is not possible to view the weapon model in a replay. Or even when spectating.

Try using GAME CAM to record you vids. It has virtually no impact on system performance where as FRAPS eats your fps alive.
The only down side to GAME CAM is that the free version does not allow you to record in game sound.

Fraps does great work, but my video editor doesn't like the fraps codec, so I have to re-encode all the video I shoot...

Is there anything other then gamecam or FRAPS that can record Videos with sound without killing my fps down to 10 ?

I got gamecom, but its stupidly made ONLY to work on XP...

I am lucky enough to have a dual-core rig, and I just set the affinity for FRAPS to Core 1, and RO to Core 2.


Works like a charm, but not everyone has that luxury.

I hope they improve it, at least give us the ability to view recorded demos from flyby view, not from recorder's perspective.

I bought the full-version of gamecam and still works like a charm here.
One of the most, if not THE most cool feature is the video recorder. I have it always on and it records the last 30 or more seconds. If you witness a cool moment ingame you just press a button and the last 30 seonds (or more if you configged it like that) are saved in avi or wmv format. Afterwards edit the small movies with moviemaker for instance and you'v got great RO-footage.

Their support is very good and once you'v bought it all future versions are free.

I agree but Fraps does compress slightly resulting in poorer performance. All the same though i find that using both is fine in differing ways, just depends what i want it for.

Again though if anyone out there knows of a better programme please enlighten us mortals
