RO freezes ingame

I had simular problems since the new patch.I have an ATI graphics card,if you have one too try this:

Set "Fast Write" OFF in your Catalys Control Center!

My page file is set to zero in windows as a hav a lot of memory. With the newest release i had problems and the game told me it ran out of memory and crashed after map switching.

After setting Fast Write OFF, my game runs faster, i can have my page file at 0 and have NO crashes, not at all , never.

Hope i could help you

RO hangs (freezes) my computer during game as well

RO hangs (freezes) my computer during game as well

Hi,
Tried all I could to fix the issue, no success, no way to play more than 3 to 5 minutes before my PC hangs, no error message, need to reset.
This is frustrating, I am trying to convince my clan to switch from BF2 to RO for our coming winter season...
What I already tried:
-all fixes in the thread "Known RO:O Errors/problems + Fixes - READ ME FIRST BEFORE POSTING"
-desactivated then physically removed my Sound Card, since I suspected an IRQ conflict issue
-deleted RO system folder, user.ini, RO.ini
-deleted RO from Steam, uninstalled steam, re-installed steam, re-installed RO
-installed very latest drivers fomr my nVidia 7800GS (beta 93.81)
-installed very latest AC'97 audio drivers for ly MSi K8 Neo 2 Platinum motherboard
-checked that I had the latest version of BIOS and AGP drivers
-removed pre-caching
-tried sound in safe mode

Here is my log file:

Last minidump is attached (note that RO hanged my PC at least 10 times since this minidump was taken, so I don't think it is linked):

Please help... so eager to play !

Problem Solved ! - Daemon Tools was the problem

Problem Solved ! - Daemon Tools was the problem

Finally RO is now working fine !
Looking at the system event logs, I found an error reported by Ftdisk: "The system could not sucessfully load the crash dump driver."
My best friend Google pointed me to a thread that at first sight seemed not related to my issue but in which the user noticed that Daemon Tools virtual CD driver was locking access to atapi.sys (preventing the PC to hibernate in his case).
I was actually using Daemon Tool to mount a virtual CD-ROM. I "ejected" the CD, unmounted all and also uninstalled Daemon Tools, and finally I have been able to play RO for more than 5 mns (actually around 20mns).
Yoshiro, when you are back from Xmas vacation, may I suggest that you add this to the FAQ, for the benefit of other players.
Now, back to RO...

RO is again freezing, sadly

RO is again freezing, sadly

Looks like I said victory a bit too early... RO is again freezing after a few minutes of game. I don't know what to try now. No error, no BSD or GPF, just complete freeze. Windows Events (sytem and applications) just show nothing. I clear them before playing, I play, it hangs, I reset the PC, and right after reboot I have only the normal events for a boot sequence. Here they are in case you can find something. I have also put the RO log file in the zip.
What else can I try ? Or what extra info can I provide ? The few minutes I could play really motivated me to get it running now !

djom try a verify cache incase something got corrupted due to the older crashes. But the log is still showing a complete freeze, as if a third party program is causing it to crash instead of RO crashing itself. The unreal engine has an auto crash handler that will throw up a General Protection Fault when the cause has at least something to do with the game itself. The logs you guys show just stop.

Well, I verified the cache, I also deleted (again) the system folder, tried to close all possible applications (except McAfee - I can't), but it still freezes randomly (but surely) after a few minutes of gameplay.
I agree that it might not be the Unreal engine that hangs my PC, but the point is that the freezes only happen while I am playing RO... Does not occur with BF2 or Flatout 2 or GTA San Andreas.
So I must find the conditions of the freeze, but without system events, not easy...
Isn't there a kind of 'safe mode' for RO ? Hidden developpers super command-line debug options ?
Don't know what to try next (apart from a full PC re-install - which I can't afford, it takes me days to re-install everything). Maybe trying to delete any kind of video card drivers and re-install my 7800GS ? I think I saw a post in this forum on this...

Thnak you for keeping trying, Yoshiro.
I am using a USR8000 router and it is running firmware 1.25 which seems to be the latest. When I read your post, I immediately tried to connect my PC directly on my cable modem, but PC hanged anyhow when playing RO (this time it even hanged at the menu where you can select Spectate with a strange sound).
Yesterday I tried the Driver Cleaner stuff to erase any trace of my previous ATI card (I now have a nVidia 7800GS), no luck. Looks like I spent 10 dollars for Driver Cleaner for nothing...
For the moment I will give up, don't know what to try next. I just asked my wife "Darling, do you mind if I take the PC out of order for a week or so to reinstall everything from scratch, restore all your accounting stuff, email, etc.. ?". She said "This is not an option, beginning of the year is the worst period for an accountant, do it in June !"
