New Weapons Discussion (Merged)

How, if there were only so few produced?

Let's say 9 million soldiers were serving at the same time.
4,400/9,000,000
Even with this overly optimistic calculation only 0.05% of the soldiers had one, if you consider that soldiers died while their weapons were reused the figure increases only slightly.
You could say that this weapon was close to non existant on the battleground - excluding operations of FJ like the freeing of Mussolini.

It would be even worse than saying that you should add the Stoner 63 to a Vietnam game where you play regular GIs, even though that this would be more likely than that case.

I'm not going to debate what I said.... I made a comment and you want to take it to the extreme?? Why?? Weapons of all sorts were picked up and used by troops from either side throughout the war. (Fact) No debate needed. Sheesh.:)

So are you for adding it or not?

What I'm saying is that a lot of weapons were used during the war, be it your fists, you knife or simply stick and stones.
So the developers have to make a decision what to add, based on their preferences.
If their preferences include weapons that only a few people saw, when it is that way.

But personally I do not see a reason to add the FG42.

IT WAS A PARATROOPER WEAPON.

LOOK AT THE FJ NUMBERS, NOT WERMACHT.

I don't think it should be included in the game. Too rare, and too much work would be required from the Devs (IE New maps, skins etc) Also, the FG42 isn't the brilliant firearm it's made out to be, it's excessively loud, with a terrible muzzle flash, had a shonky bipod arrangement and is nigh on impossible to control on fully automatic.

I can read. Writing in caps does not make your post more important and please keep insulting out of the discussion. If you have the feeling that you have to insult me, write me a PM. It is not so complicated.

At the moment we have no Luftwaffe in the game, we only have the Wehrmacht and the Waffen-SS sometimes. That is why I used Wehrmacht figures, to show a comparison. The G41 is rare, but is nothing compared to the rareness of the FG42.

And btw. maybe you know that many Luftwaffe-Soldaten (including Fallschirmj

The FG-42 is so cool of a weapon, that time and space should be bent in order to accomadate it in RO. ;)

Probably we may see it as a user made add-on or maybe (hopefully) in the Mare Nostrum mod, as they were mostly used in Italy and on the West Front.

There are several pictures of Fg-42s used in the defense of Casino and in famous rescue of Mussolini. And of course, in Normandy.

As I showed in the picture, there was at least one FG-42 in Berlin. And one is all we need. :D Probably there were a handful of them floating around in the last days.

Of course, first we need to add Fj's. I think they would be a very worthy addition to the Ost Front. There were several hundred thousand deployed there, I believe.

I could be mistaken, but I think I recall a company of Fallschirmjaegers taking part in the defense of the Seelow Heights.

There is, of course, tons more stuff that probably should be added first, but something for the future at least. We'll probably see it as part of a mod first before we see it in Ost Front proper, I think.

This is true that Ruskies did have the Nagant revolver but.....

Can you use a speed loader on the nagant revolver or no???

I remember it being in the mod on Pavlov... it was pretty cool but the reloading animation ****ed and it wasnt even more powerfull than a regular pistol...
I thought the Nagant revolver used cartridges rather than speedloaders?
