Reboot when i close RO.

I didn't find a solution to this problem from the sticky thread. Please correct me if threre is one after all.

So my problem is that, my computer reboots almost every time when i quit playing RO and exit the game.
When I'm playing the game runs normally and there appears no crashes and reboots.

My computer's specs are: AMD athlon 3400+, 1024mb, GF6600

i forgot the fix i believe there was one. i believe you can exit it by terminating the game by typing quit in the console. Or by ending it in the task window. But the fix itself i think i forgot

I'm afraid that doesen't work. I forgot to mention that my computer reboots also when I for example accidentally press the windows button.
I also tried the taskmanager thing and it didn't work properly.

Is there anyone who remembers the fix?

Oooh, this might be something to do with the prefetch files. They caused reboots for no apparent reason for me when starting / deleting the exe. Might be the same thing for quitting?

C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch

and delete anything with red orchestra in the name.

Deleting the Red orchestra files in prefetch folder didn't work either.

I don't have a fix for you, but maybe a few things you can try to narrow down what the problem may be.

1) You can tell windows not to reboot on system failure (system may still hang or may give you an error messege.) To do this, right-click on "my computer" - properties - advanced -startup&recovery - settings - untick "system restart". Tick "write event to system log". Then you can browse the error logs under administrative tools" control panel. This may or may not help you find the cause.

2) start-run "dxdiag" - go through all the tests to make sure everything is ok with your directx.

Also, you can delete everything in prefetch folder without worries, windows rebuilds what it needs.

Ok, I will try those things later, I don't have time now and I can't even get to my computer at the weekend.
I will let you know if I get any more information about this problem or if I find a solution to it.

Ok, the direct x scan didn't find any problems.

Now I also sometimes get the Critical error, General protection fault message. And when I press OK, then my computer reboots.
Confusing.

Can be a lot of things.

I would try the following with a General Protection Fault (in this order).

1. Check that your hard drive is not full (or near full)
2. Test your RAM: http://www.memtest86.com/
3. Run chkdsk /f /r
4. Try to Repair Windows

After those, it can be a bit hard to find the reason.

A quick way to repair your windows:

1) start / run ---> sfc /scannow

This will replace all your critical windows files from your windows cd. After that you may need to run windows update again.
