New realistic shooter

Discovered truecombat:Elite yesterday, and having played around with it I think it has potential. It's a mod for Wolfenstein Enemy Territory , and even though the engine is quite old they've managed to create quite a nice game.

You also need return to have Wolfenstein Enemy Territory installed but that one is free and available all over the internett.

A) ET is not realistic game, major of RO community does not approve

B) True Combat - Elite is not WWII based. Major of RO community do not want.

C) As I said, using ET as a base for a decent mod with decent realism, majority of RO community does not again approve.

I never discovered Infiltration before I read about it on dyslexic homepage a couple of months ago. I presume the mod is dead and burried today, and hope that this game might become as realistic as my impression of Infiltration.

Currently I'm realy dissapointed with the community of the game. I need to find a mute function, because as far as I've seen there is a lot of assholes playin it...

First of all, TC:E has been around for years. The first version was for Quake III, then they swapped to Enemy Territory (since Quake III engine wasn't free for use back then and ET was).

I like the mod, it's nice to play it on a LAN. It's not the best but damn good for a free game.

AFAIK, it won't. Infiltration was a beast in and of itself. Very ambitious, and it has taken years of official mod-team work and independant modder work to get it to where it is now. TC: E while having realism features isn't quite that...hardcore, I guess, for lack of a better word. They're two different games, like ROOST and Inf.

Gotten my hands on 0.49 release and I must say its and improvement. Its worth checking out.
