... at least I think it's a new DVD, as I've never seen it before (it says it was released in 2006). I've been looking to get this movie for a long time now and I couldn't find it anywhere. Not even in an online shop or through a torrent. So I was looking for it everywhere, and when I saw it in a shop I immediately bought it. I just watched it and it was amazing.

It comes in a nice tin box.

From the producer of the classic "Das Boot", Joseph Vilsmaier.

A must-see movie if you like Red Orchestra (which you do ;) ) !

Is it the miniseries or the butchered-in-editing movie that's everywhere on DVD?

From the looks of it, you got the earlier DVD that's actually 20 minutes shorter than the other. This(which I'm assuming is yours with the posted case) is 132 minutes which this version is 150. The latter version also has the original German while yours, says Amazon, just has the absolutely horrible dubbing.
*edit*
Actually I'm mistaken, the bottom isn't consistent with the other two. Seems to be a third version floating around now.

*edit2*

You still got screwed out of 20 minutes.

Mine is 132 minutes. Oh well. This is the only DVD version of the movie even available in Europe. I can't say I'm screwed though, as I really enjoyed the film.

You're right though, don't EVER, EVER buy the dubbed version! One should kill himself for even watching five minutes of the dubbed version.

Anyway, if you see the one I posted - you can buy it without hesitation. The fact that the film follows a platoon of German soldiers rather than Americans is very refreshing. None of that "hero" silliness, it depicts war like it really happened.

Edit: It's now on Bol.com as well. About time.
