Right here goes, I'm getting frustrated beyond annoyance with this damned game, Yes I have full Internet Connectivity i.e. No Firewall Issues, I have been to Steam for advice (they are a bunch of morons too) What is it with this game when it works one day then doesn't the next? Today

Done your FAQ before I posted, about as much use as a chocolate fireguard, (yet another fix that doesn't work0) why the chuff do you think I'm reinstalling? Because I haven't got anything better to do on my days off??, like I said earlier it's FAQed, I tried the Known Error/Fix thread on how to up your cache size and turn off precachin and it makes sod all difference, I can read and I don

Guess what? an uninstall and reinstall of Steam and RO and I can play again, for how long remains to be seen, funny though how it works with no bodges or fixes from the FAQ.. How long before the next uninstall/reinstall remains to be seen. maybe add the uninstall/reinstall into the FAQ under if all else fails... As for being nice, well if people buy thier product they are paying their wages, so if it doesn't wok STGP (Sack The Guilty Party) and get someone who can do the job.

Hopefully you are not talking about me monkeyman, the guy/girl is carrying on like a ****ing pratt.

They have paid a bit for a game, not a couple of hundred grand on an ERP package like SAP.

The dickhead's probably got their search the web toolbars happening with their gator spyware infested bonza buddy, systray calandar apps whilst their porn infested trojans are taking up all their bandwidth.

@ paulz76: play nicely in here please.

@ slartibartfast: if you haven't already provided them and I missed it somewhere, your key system specs would be useful. There can be many reasons for timing out on servers including slow internet connection; connection speed set wrong on the config; slow cpu or low ram; trying to connect to servers with a very high ping. If you have been getting multiple errors, please let us have the details.

On a slightly related note:

I am not saying this is the case here, but I wonder how many people have problems because of software/hardware problems with their own machines and somehow blame it on the game? I know at least one friend myself whose problems were the result of old drivers....

I fix peoples PC's for a living. The single most common cause of problems is viruses, followed by spyware. Unpatched versions of windows and crappy drivers come next. They tell you all sorts of things on the phone about how such and such happens when they do this and that but it nearly always comes down to the same things.

Most software will have small bugs in it but If you're having MAJOR problems then it is probably something else entirely.

Has 7 MCP’s 11 IBM and HP/Compaq Certification, complete with an IQ of 178 so hardly a prat, geek or nerd maybe, 12 Years in the Armed Forces Weapons and Explosives Trained (Ex- EOD) or Bomb Disposal and still got all my body parts so I can’t be that dumb.

I hire and fire IT Engineers for a living and working within a Quality Environment I expect nothing but the best from my Staff (as no doubt does the Tripwire Team)

If I’ve been acting like an asshole, then perhaps you are just one of those people who don’t give a toss about anything. Looking through these Forums it appears that I’m not the only one who is having problems with this game so each and every one of us who has purchased this game and has had problems it’s damned annoying.

As for SAP that’s old mans stuff, that’s been out for at least 5 years, probably when most of you were still at school and isn’t a “couple of hundred grand” Maybe in US$ but not in the stronger currencies of the Globe.

Anyhow Tripwire Thanks I apologise I’m just a grumpy old man with no patience, I have been in IT long enough to know that not all software works with all hardware or other software and for you Devs it must be a real bind, having people like me turn up with all the signs of PMT

And to all the kids out there one day you’ll be a grumpy old fart too it is contagious and one day some smurf will be slagging you off on a Forum somewhere.

if a reinstall worked for you there was probably something wrong, with some fragmentation of files/accesibility of your harddisc.

Anyway as yoshiro pointed out, if you go in a game and don't get player messages and basically can't do **** you're timing out. You'll have to tweak the ability to connect to servers faster so they don't think that your internet connection broke down because it takes soo long ^^. low end systems get these probs sometimes ^^.

Is not making you look smarter ;), going in against a childish reply levels yourself with the person you try putting down. Responding to a flame reply with flame is equally as bad as starting it. ^^ Those yellow colours to help you get attention are not really nice either, same with making everything in capital letters or a terribly big font it only annoys readers, that could might aswell be the reason why paulz responded in that way.
