It's so very tempting. I LOVE the warhammer universe. However, I gave up on MMOs a while ago. I'll probably pick it up for the free month (if it includes one).

Yer i have yet to find a MMO that's been good since UO, and i tried most of them. As a warhammer player myself i really want this to be good. The only way they will convince me is if it feels like your in an actual war, as opposed to the spastic running around in flurouscent pantaloons or capture the flag bollocks ala WoW

Warhammer Online Beta test sign up
Also Xendance and a few of us are trying to start a RO guild so we can get into the beta, so just poke him or me on IRC about joining up and helping us out.

Well the game is still pretty much an Alpha, so yeah its a newsletter sign up. But it also means they know your email, so it just means you could get the chance to beta test it in the future. Besides, anything will be better than WoW's PvE and PvP system

Guilds will be judged based on how active your members are in your current game or forum (NOT number of members), the length of time you've been together, your website, and more. meh i got turned off because the trailers all cool graphically etc but then you see ingame screens and videos and it has the same crap cartoony graphics WoW does.
edit : btw if your lookin for the next mmo to wipe out WoW take a look at Age of conan! now thats an MMO!

And mythic is doing a great job on the artwork, war looks exactly how it should.

Cartoony graphics WoW has? Lol...those are WARHAMMER graphics! I guess you never saw/played the tabletop. Warhammer isn't a completely serious universe, and it's great because of it.
And I really really don't see the appeal with age of conan...one race to play, the graphics looked sub par to me.

Well the "gr4phix" can't be near photorealistic or have per-pixel lighting when there is a massive battle going on with 80+ players. You would need some good hardware for that.

The MMO that will destroy World of Warcraft is called World of Warcraft.
I enjoyed Dark Age of Camelot's RVR system, most of the time. I just hope they take out the boring, mindless PVE grind. PVE in DAOC was sooooo boring. WoW's PVE>DAOC's PVE, but DAOC's RVR>WoW's craptasticness.
