Iv heard countless threads on how load times are much faster on custom maps then the official ones. Is this because usualy the custom maps have far far less textures than the office ones?

If Im right, maybe the team can reduce some textures. just kiding

You're partially right. Most custom maps do not have nearly the same level of detailing as official maps and are often much smaller in size. The more textures, sounds, static meshes, code, etc. you put into your map the bigger the file size gets.
