Please fix the tank range adjustment

Keep in mind the way it is done in RO is abbreviated from real life. You play as both the commander and gunner.

In real life simply dialing in a higher range would not set the barrel higher, it would merely ratchet the setting in to a set amount of degrees, but it would still be up to the gunner to actually physically manipulate the gun by operating the laying gear.

As the commander you would simply be calling out targets and their ranges to the gunner.

Could you explain this a bit more? I'm interested.

Some modern tanks at least actually do elevate the barrel when the range is set, I had assumed from the sight descriptions that the WWII linked sights worked the same way but then again that might be something that came in with modern stabilising gear.

In an artillery indirect sight, you set the elevation on the sight and turn a handle to elevate the barrel. You know the barrel is lined up by watching a little spirit level on the sight. How does a WWII German tank gunner know his barrel is elevated to the range set on the sight?
