When i join a game it loads then it goes to select team. when i am in select the class i can hear the sound from thematch but when i hit continue it freezes for about 2 minutes and then the game appears but all i can do is shoot my gun. but occasionaly i can get in a match and play.

Sounds to me like a network problem. The delay after selecting a class and before the game actually starts is, I'm sorry to say, pretty normal. It used to happen to me all the time, but the new filesystem beta has made it a lot quicker.

As for only being able to shoot your gun, that is a symptom of your computer losing contact with the server.

i noticed this only happens on servers with over 20 players. any suggestions.

Get the new client system working. It really does help a lot.
Also in your RO ini file turn off all preacaching. And NeverPrecache to true. And increase your cache megs
512mb-64
756-128
1gb-256
2gb-512

That's the scale it's not exact though, play around with it.

Basically the problem you have is that your loading times are too long and you time out.

don't want to make a new topic. but can my ram be affecting fps?not my video cards ram but the actual memory.i only have 512MB ram and thinking about buying some more.

I can't say I have the answer to this, but in my case I upgraded from 512 MB to 1GB of RAM and from 128 MB to 256 MB vid card, and, if anything, my framerate is actually lower now.

The only things that will affect your fps is your GPU and your CPU. One of these will limit the other.
