Well, for some people that's true, like for the guy that will spend $1500 on a new "plastic" rifle, and then spend another $5000 upgrading it with toys like laser sights, tactical lights, triple scope mounts, and who knows what else - just so he can look cool at the range. This is the same guy who tricks out his car with $20,000 in sound system, rims, and other crap like he's got something to prove.gen_Joukov(FR) said:No way ... i hate weapons ... it s just the most stupid phallic substitute
But for others... let's just say a dirty, old, cosmoline-encrusted $59.99 Mosin Nagant isn't exactly a "phallic substitute" (though it fits the "long and hard" part...). I enjoy reading about history, but these guns actually helped shape it, for better or for worse. My Mosin Nagant 1944 was made in 1945 - maybe it was there when the Reichstag fell. My 91/30 was made in 1936 - it may have served in the hands of a brave Soviet strelok trying to hold back Barbarossa, or maybe in the hands of an NKVD lackey who took a role in the Soviet purges or farm collectivazation of the 1930's, or in the hands of a rifleman fighting his way into Germany in 1944. Who knows?
History is shaped by men, but weapons and pens are the tools that do the sculpting.
