runtime error after steam update

got a nasty run time error after a steam update. anyone know a fix? I did a search and found alotta crap, but most of it was re the SDK (which i have not touched).

been playing relatively trouble-free for 100+ hours. don't have time for hours of trouble shooting, as I have changed nothing on my computer and frankly do not have the time to hassle with it.

no fixy, and I just move on. I have been nothing if not a total RO fan boy here. random errors are ridiculous, when the user has changed nothing. not thrilled. at all.

Couple of questions and suggestions to try:
When Steam did its update, did you get a message to restart windows? And did you?
Does Steam automatically start up with windows? Try dis-abling that and rebooting. Then start RO.

thought maybe the desktop shortcut was corrupted (or changed) by the steaming-pile update, so I tried to join via x-fire.

I can now get into servers, but there are no working keys for my player. I sit, freshly spawned, unable to move, shoot, or bring up any menus. have to cntrl.alt.del to get out of the game.

fixed it. had to delete a bunch of stuff.

ridiculous.

Hey I've put a message saying it still not working for me , and I (in this case im stupid) or someone else deleted it.
So I deleted few things and reinstalled but nothing. What should I do ?

It looks like a fix to this problem is to delete the Red Orchestra folder and let Steam generate a new one. Back up your .ini files first if you want to keep your settings.

delete:
C:\program files\steam\steamapps\<username>\red orchestra

Thanks for help , now it works without having anything do to more than playing from an XP account that has admin rights.
So stupid
