Daft ideas for a realism mod :)

A good what-if would be if someone (I don't know my WW1 history well enough to think of a plausable who) had re-supplied Germany in WW1, including their civilians, to allow them to keep fighting. As it was, they outright folded when things were just starting to get interesting, what with the invention of the tank and everything... and then the war could have gone on for ages, and I'm sure a very plausable and awesome storyline could be developed around that idea. I'd love to play with the land-battleship tanks of the late 20s through the mid thirties... :D

how about a what if battle of Nazi Germany invading mainland Britian?

This idea actually appeals to me greatly. I'd love to be able to have a gunfight through a rural English village, something I could relate to, maybe even a recognisable place - would be surreal and exciting (And I get to use an Enfield :p). The nearest Ive seen so far is a map for the mod, Ro-Goatswood.

Or even better...imagine fighting through war-torn London streets - gunfights between German and British troops for Trafalgar square, or over Tower Bridge, or over the covered platforms of Charing Cross station....brilliant! :D

How about Operation Barbarossa:
"Winter gear? What for, it'll all be over by summer.

Hmm, that we already have :D

Maybe Verdun then:
"We'll bleed it white" ( Chief of the German General Staff, Erich von Falkenhayn)

Hey, let's attack the world's strongest fortress in an area of not much bigger than New York's Central Park. Casualties? Who cares, we caused approximately 400 000 casualties for French, well, we did lose about same amount. But hey! We also lost our last change at defeating Allies at west and gave huge morale boost to French.

Good going general.

i've noticed alot of underdog ideas. While most people could argue that it would work to have an army with extreme superiority over the weaker. Well maybe but what gives underdogs any chance irl i believe is improvises. For Example, the modern day war on terror. If the terrorist lined up and fought us fair and square they would be eliminated, but they improvise by hiding and result in to unconventional warfare. Something you cant really do in a game yet.

Time-warp mod, Ye Olde british army vs. modern-day army, with british doing the formation Stance-dance "First row shoot! Second Row shoot!" and modern army getting their kevlars hit with Ah-so-deadly force

Right before the machine gunners open up on all those lovely, lovely stationary targets. ;)

On the time warp note, WW2 vs modern equipment might be interesting, if you left heavy tanks out of the equation.

5. We could do the Boer Woer... but the Brits have to have crouching and prone disabled, as it simply wasn't done, old chap. Have to jolly well stand up like men and be shot at.

This time round we will kick some more english arses.... :)

Die Mystic Boer (Translated for you english: "The Mystical BOER", as in BOER WAR).

P.S. My great grandfather actually faught in the Boer War (on the Boer side)...

Yes - but everyone knows the Boers cheated. They did not fight fair. Very, very unsporting. Insisted on hiding in, what is it called? Oh yes - "cover". Not at all sporting. Then you insist on lying down to shoot - just what is that all about? Real men stand tall and proud to shoot. In red jackets.

Just can't trust Johnny Foreigner. They simply won't play cricket. They seem to think it is all about winning - which every English gentleman knows is quite incorrect. It is about how you play the game. So stand up when I'm shooting!

What about realisticly modelled alchohol <img> Basically you gain health while under the effect, but have delayed reactions/blur and increased suppression effect from bullets and stuff. Would be funny to down a bottle of vodka, attach bayonets and charge! You can take a few extra shots because your pain threshhold is increased but when it wears off you die
